It was a beautiful Spring day in Amsterdam when a friend from Groningen came to visit:
From my garden we saw a clear blue sky
And here's a view of the sky from an alleyway. Do you have alleyways where you live?
At the end of the afternoon we still enjoyed the wonderful weather:

This week's poem is about magic and written very recently:
================
Three Hours to live (a #CirclePoem)
It felt like he had
three hours to live.
Just like the rest of the world.
As if the dancers
had cleared the stage,
leaving the few still watching
look at some old set pieces
and now the technicians
had gone too,
the magic was gone,
leaving the reality
of everyday life
for as long as it lasted while
it felt like he had
three hours to live

Nice that you are out there enjoying that beautiful blue sky!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSomebody has to, right?
VerwijderenA beautiful mix of clear spring skies and reflective poetry—thank you for sharing both. I loved the alleyway photo; such views often hold quiet stories of their own. And your CirclePoem truly captured a moment of stillness and introspection. That haunting repetition of “three hours to live” lingered with me. It’s amazing how much feeling you’ve distilled into so few lines.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou're making me blush, Anna. Thank you. The allyeway is in between two blocks of houses that are over a century old so I'm sure some interesting things happened there. For some reason my short stories and poems contain far less words than my blogposts. After years I still haven't figured out why that is.
