Is 'The Tri State City' really such a terrible idea?

A friend of mine is terrified that 'they' want to force a Tri State Society upon us.

I agreed: "Yes, we should demand to sit in our car in a traffic jam for three hours a day instead of spending a total of 30 minutes a day walking or cycling to work!"

She seemed confused so I asked her what she hated about the '15 minutes' or 'Tri State city'.

Turned out she didn't know. She just mumbled "But they want to force us to forever live in a 15 minute circle from our homes!" and asked for a refill of her tea cup after I replied: "Do you have any evidence to support that ridicilous notion or were you told that lie by some right wing populist who asked for donations to fight 'them' in court?" 

Basically she was simply against the idea of a 15 minute City because she saw some meme about it once.

Thing is...'The 15 minute city' is already a reality. At least in The Netherlands. Now, see this video and tell me again why you repeat the soundbites of your favourite rightwing populist and say it's 'socialist', 'communist', 'left' or 'bad'. 

Sitting in a traffic jam for hours on day, burning fossil fuels that suffocate the planet and hurt your wallet may sound like a right you don't want to give up. But if you don't want to help yourself or the planet, go right ahead and keep listening to people who get paid by the ultrarich elite to lie to you.
