If you make money robbing the Earth of its natural resources and thereby the planet unlivable, you have an incentive to cry about 'eco-terrorists!'. Those unfamiliar with right wing lingo: it's their term for people who care about other living beings besides themselves.
If you're a stay at home dad, a teacher, a hocky mom, punch in numbers at some lawyer's office...why would you spend entire days and nights trying to debunk established scientific results while hating empathic people?

Oil multinational Shell - once Dutch but after the Brexit thanks to a lucrative tax deal with the UK government British - recently won its appeal case so the radical right Dutch government won't ask Shell to cut its carbon emmissions 'because Shell is not sole responsible for climate change'. As if you refuse to arrest a gang of bike thieves 'because they are not the only bike thieves and some bike owners should be less careless."
Shell itself in 1991 made a shocking video on the terrible consequences of our dependency of fossil fuels and its own role in more disasters, food- and water shortages, the killing of animals, the mass exodus of people not being able to live in large parts of the world:
Shocked by the findings of their own scientists, Shell - together with Bayer - set up a climate deniers international media campaign.
And it worked: Shell and its buddies in the 'let's ruin the planet for some profit' industry got millions of people to believe climate scientists are wrong. And to believe in a near future with millions of refugees and having to change our diet. Unfortunately with that last bit they are right. David Finnigan explains:
