On a particularly good day,
we traveled to Blankenberge for a radio interview.
On our way there we passed this carrousel. Or merry-go-round:
What do you call these rides in your language? In Dutch it's 'Draaimolen'; literally 'turn mill'.
On another gorgeous day we went to Dunkirk. And visited an impressive exhibition on Operation Dynamo, when the Allies retreated from the Belgium coast because of a n4zi counter attack in 1940.
Later that day we were back at De Panne. Where also many young men called 'soldiers' laid down their lives for the protection of 'freedom' and other important values.
Thinking of the many thousands who are still victims of wars and oppression, I drank this beer,
watched paramotors soar through the skies
and enjoyed an amazing sunset:
Only to go back to work the next day. To work in a theatre across this square:
Here's that theatre in the evening:
Pretty, eh?

This week's poem is based on something that happened on stage and the world news of that particular day:
Cloud (a #poem)
It was the most beautiful thing
he had ever seen. Magnificent!
More beautiful than his child's first smile and even more beautiful
than the hair of his muse,
after she had showered.
As a matter of fact,
he was certain
he would never ever see
anything more beautiful.
The last thing
that went through his head
was a burning shard of metal
All thanks to that beautiful
mushroom cloud
