Here's my past week in a couple of pictures.
Saturday my son came for lunch and we visited one of the neighbours with whom I share a communal garden.
She has known my son since he was five and was clearly pleased to see the 30 years old nice young man he has become.Sunday I joined a friend at the picknicktable under a cool tree, a block away from where I live. If you look closely, you can spot the sails of a nearby old sawmill:
Monday we celebrated Summer Solstice at our Freemasons Lodge and the moon on my half hour walk back home shone bright:
Tuesday I had dinner with a friend at some fifteen minutes walk from my home. A friendship going back to the days - 25 years ago - we were both dads waiting at the school gates for our children
Wednesday I visited a friend in ever lovely Haarlem. Sitting in the shade on a terrace we talked about upcoming entertainment work.
We've been friends ever since we were colleagues at a festival, some fifteen years earlier.

We've only known each other for three years but we seem to have bonded. And it's nice to have friends who are in their early forties. At 58 I've already lost too many friends from my and older generations. Younger friends tend to last longer.
In my days you would either cook or call a Chinese restaurant with a landline and pick up your order half an hour later and here and there there would be a snackbar for a burger and/or chips.

These days you can here people say: "Sorry, too hot to cook. Do you like pizza? I'll order via the app."

On this day (June 26th 2026) temperature records in the Netherlands got smashed and I didn't want to overcook my brain, so here's a very short poem:
Still (a #poem)
After a while
you realise
it all made sense
In a weird way
but still
