Starting at Amsterdam's Olympic Stadium, a friend and I embarked on a stroll that took us to Vondelpark. Interesting fact: once a statue in front of the stadium showed an athlete bringing the Olympic Salute. A gesture a certain German dictator liked so much he adopted it as the later infamous nazi salute, giving the raised arm with open palm a negative connotation.
It wasn't a very warm day but one could sense the coming of Spring in the air. Here's the bandstand where I used to meet up with friends in the days I attended high school, back in the eighties. We would help each other with homework, talked about our crushes, comforted each other if a pet or grandparent had just passed and told of what we had just learned.
Sun and water did their best to turn the place more green after Winter had turned it brown.
