This week just some local skies. Taken at my hometown Amsterdam:
As you can see, it's autumn in the Netherlands. Some days are a bit gloomy and rainy, while others show bright, sunny days. Like here, at a local canal where I sometimes swim. Tip if you want to swim here too: although the water is quite clean, try not to drink it. And not just because three different streams merge here and sometimes you can see plastic bags floating by. Let professionals open them because sometimes they contain body parts. Sometimes it's 'just' a dead puppy or kitten (people can be really mean and cruel) but other times a cleaner from the city council exclaims to his (I have yet to see women working as canal cleaners) colleague: "Hey, I think I just found the right arm that goes with the poor sucker's left foot we found last week!"
Here's a 'typical' Amsterdam canal. For us inhabitants a normal site but tourists seem to love it:
We also have quite a few canal sites that don't go back to the 1700s or earlier:

Do you feel embarrased when you find out someone has remembered your name, but you failed to remember theirs? This piece is about that:
Playing Together (a #poem)
He knew her voice
and remembered her eyes
but not her name
even though
she remembered his
and - as they got reacquainted -
they talked about life,
the universe and everything
while discussing Freud, Kate Bush
and playing together
