Here's the Amsterdam Freemason's Lodge building. It's home to some 10 different Lodges, including two mixed (men and women) Lodges:
Typical modern Amsterdam street design. With space for trams, cars, bikes, trees and pedestrians. With hardly any chance of hurting eachother by accident.
A fairly recent edition to the city, placed in 'New West':
Especially on sunny days, these balconies remind me of a wonderful holiday in Italy:
We got new community gardens out front since a year, to replace car parking spots because the municipality is gently ushering people into an era with close to zero cars in the streets. Yuppies complain they have to walk ten minutes to a large underground parking garage but everybody else is very happy and can literally breathe more freely. A couple of neighbours have joined forces to maintain the new tiny gardens and are doing a great job. The city helps by supplying dirt and a bit of money for seeds and tools. Which is a lot cheaper than hiring a gardening company.Do you have small community gardens in your area?
